Post by: ilan on September 15, 2011, 09:51:57 AM: I know everybody hates Coro's, but there's one on eBay in Ice Blue Metallic (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-FENDER-CORONADO-II-VINTAGE-ELECTRIC-SEMI-HOLLOW-BODY-BASS-GUITAR-DEARMOND-/150662816205?pt=Guitar&hash=item23143421cd#ht_40060wt_1396)and it's drop-dead gorgeous to the point that I don't really care how it sounds/plays/dives (yes I know).

Plus TONS of great pics. No affil.

Post by: tore00 on October 05, 2011, 09:05:08 AM: I never had a chance to play a Coronado. What is the reason why the Coronado plays so bad? How does it compare to Gibson EB-2 or DeArmond Starfire? I have both and am quite satisfied of both.
I am really tempted by the red one, and the price is quite reasonable ;)

I have. Little Jack Lawrence with the Greenhornes. He played that Coronado I for years. But I haven't seen him use it in the Raconteurs.

What a flashback ;D. I knew her brother Mike back in the day. He was a good keyboard player, but he was kind of out there(as were many of us) in those days.

I wasn't sure anyone outside the Detroit area would have heard of Mike. Now Suzis thighs is a different story ;).
