Grr... It seems like theres no middle ground. A company either has a zillion versions of the same 2 or 3 basses, with differences in color, hardware, material/const. (like Fender, ESP, Schecter). Or they have 2 or 3 basses in 1 style (like Gibson or Gretsch). You'd think a company that already has several options/design to build distinct basses, would. *sigh* I guess thats just the individual in me speaking up. I mean, who wants to be different. Of course, only people that can afford custom basses want to be different.... how silly of me.....
That being said... I do really like the Guitar of the 'Whatever' idea. It does give, at least guitar players, the option of getting an affordable semi-custom guitar at a more affordable price. Who knows... out of 12 we might get one bass. Which will probably be a bass they used to offer... in a finish they used to offer....
