1 3/4" same as Fender and the same as Johns FB, no neck dive issue that's for sure. Us Gibby players are used to skinny bodies !

I thought Fenders were 1 5/8'' for some reason? Anyway, yeah, no neck dive at all! My F-Bird (body courtesy of John) is like a PLANK with a Fender neck screwed on. Cool bass, not my most comfortable. I mostly play a Ric or sometimes a LP Special.

Thanks for confirming that. BTW - the modified Warmoth body John gave me is 1 3/4'' thick.

My Warmoth Fenderbird was 1 3/4" I think that's where I was confusing myself. I like 1 5/8" a while lot better. My NR bodies are 1 5/16", real NR birds are 1 1/4" I wanted a little extra thickness for the neck pocket.

I bet I know someone who could build you one!

I bet you could pull off a pastel Mark

I'm Happy that Tom's not only turned out so well, but is being played. Looks good on you as well.

I still love that hybrid "Thunderbird" / "Entwistle Buzzard" logo... classy touch!
Entwistle would have really dug it!

I will send over the inspection team!

Note the body block was angled in a bit on the cutaway for better upper fret access.

Try to play Alright Now by Free on a Tbird. Then the deep cutaway suddenly makes sense.

The one reason I wanted to make, to me, the uglier version of the cut away bird is it is pretty much designed for funtion. It was the final Fenderbird version Entwistle made that I am aware of.

It really plays & sounds great as well.

My fenderbird has the normal unaltered T-bird shape and I also went with a thinner body because of the T-bird shape being so large. I also went for a Jazz bass neck instead of the Precision neck that's normally used in this kind of bass.
