Super nice project! A friend of mine has just decided to buy a '41 Harley Davidson project.
He's a complete mechanic maniac. It's something I'd love to learn but I don't have the time to atm.
I have a slightly retro looking Triumph Scrambler 2007... When I ride alone,
I change the seat to a single one which looks a little bit cooler ;)

If you are into 6 string Bass VI style basses you could look out for a Teisco TB-64.
Paul Rhoney, a luthier from California makes pretty neat TB-64 style replicas. He's also a very nice guy.

Hi all, i hope it's ok to reactivate this old thread...
Here's my question (I bet this has been discussed a thousand times before - so sorry for that but it's hard to find the answers somewhere in a 150 pages long thread)

Please forgive me - I'm a newbie :rolleyes:

-I wonder what the differences of the 2 (or 3?) runs are? IIRC, I read about different neck angles... I also read about the body thickness. Could you enlighten me about this? I am thinking about getting my hands on a Bach NRTbird and I really want one with a thin body - like the 60's originals (I never had one in my hand though - I just prefer the look) Are the newer ones thin ???

-I found out about the Thunderbucker pickups which look very promising - are there other options or is it the way to go?

For your interest: I mailed Bach with a question regarding their non finished Tbird NR. I asked them if I could get one without the back cavity routing since it looks not right to me. They replied within a minute saying that there will be an unfinished, blank one without any routing available in March/April 2012. I hope I understand it right and this info is correct.

Ha I didn't pay that much for her. I don't know anything about the collectors value, all I know is I wanted to get my hands on a Mosrite bass. She was for sale for 1500 USD. I'm pretty sure I could sell her (at least here in Euroland) for more than I've paid for... I don't think I ever will though.

Wow. I know that Fender sells the extremely expensive custom shop models but the ones in the link above look different. The custom shop models are equipped with "normal" Jaguar/Jazzy bridges but these seem to have the wider bridge as used on the originals. Am I wrong?
