Rickenbacker Basses / Headstock angle question.
« on: December 31, 2010, 10:10:16 AM »
Hi guys! Can any body tell me what the headstock angle are on your basses?
No one I know has one. Some would seem to have no angle at all,and some just very slight. Assuming this from looking at all your pics.
Have never owned one, but looking at those.......hmmm!
Here to all having a new and improved year ;D

Bill's Shop: Projects, Mods & Repairs / Proto-bass #2.
« on: September 24, 2010, 09:34:02 AM »
New neck join on #2. Got the template for this from Ed schafer for 25 bucks! A very helpful item.
???the heel has a veneer because it was an afterthought. # 1 has no heel.
The rout is mostly experimenting w/ tonal variances. Also looking for a uniform rout that will serve whether I mount one pup or 2 or....

The "new" headstock is angled back 4 degrees. That eliminates the need for string trees and improves string to nut contact.  :-* Also after this one, the nut width will prob. be 11/2 in. instead of the 13/4 in. nut this cricket bat has!

Bass Amps & Effects / jbl d140 spec search.
« on: June 26, 2009, 04:49:58 PM »
hi guys,

i just won a jbl d140 on ebay. arrived very quickly, on time, packed like fort knox. now here's the kicker, although the label is pretty scratched up, it clearly says d130!! >:( now, i am not the type to make a huge stink, or gratuitously give someone a neg. comment esp. if it is 100 %)" no return" was clearly stated, and i cannot say if the mix-up was intentional. i am disappointed of course, but almost certain i can get my money, or most of it back. austin is full of steel players and guys w/ old fenders.

i am restoring a 200s cab to specs. that means d140s. any of you guys have any to sell or trade for a 130? or know someone who might?  cab currently loaded w/ altec white frame 421a's, which i plan to put in my ancient hiwatt 2x15 and store the two fanes.

thanks, and stay cool. it was 104 yesterday in austin!
