It's situated in Peenemunde. So Uwe's taking over the world by making a big mudbucker, producing The Brown Note? (*) It'll beat any army!

Ow, it's already on that page!

"In 2008 the German Uwe Hornung claims to have made a device to produce the brown note, using an enlarged bass pick up of the Gibson brand, nicknamed Mudbucker."

For the avoidance of further speculation: That boiler room door belongs to our house where Martina and the kids still live, while I have moved on/away to other pastures. Behind it used to be a storage room for sawdust which fed an oven that heated the place formerly when it was still a carpentry.

If it's on Wikipedia, then you know it must be true.  ;)

RD Artist- been my main bass since 78. I keep looking for a better bass, but can not find any bass that comes close to what it can do fOR ME!

LP  Standard- I love the tone the best of all my passive basses, can't say enough good things about this bass. Keep your birds, I'll take my Paulie.

EB-O project bass - nothing comes close to a mudbucker

I don't think I would bring a bass with me to a desert island.
I find playing bass for myself is boring. If I can't play with a band, I don't play at all.
Without electricity all the fun of the pants flapping lows would be impossible too.

Like Chris said if I had to take three basses I'd take the ones the burn longest and the camp fire.

i seem to remember that white thingy from another time and place. love it.

all i have playable now is my Epi EBO with the Grovers on it already and a 60's pup getting tapped to go into it soon as well as having a tailpiece put on soon i hope (if i can find one reasonable!). then i'll set it up but play it in the meantime.

the SG is at the builders getting the neck joint done as i type = it will have a 70's pup with a posty bridge and tail piece, one of ebay's maple necks and some lightweight Schaller tuners

the LP Junior is waiting in the case and will have black trim, ebony fretboard, small inlaid pickguard with one of Fred's DS2's in it and a Schaller bridge.

I don't think I would bring a bass with me to a desert island.

didn't say it was deserted, just a desert island. might have a buffet, a bar, blondes and electricity with Marshall bass stacks growing on palm trees!!!

Ah now you're talking!
I'd bring the 1969 Les Paul Bass, the Greco Thunderbird and the modified Epi JCS

should be cool enough to impress those blondes at the bar

Ahh these rules are good.  My island's bar would be fed by a mysterious spring, from which Guinness somehow flowed endlessly.

If I could only bring three, I would have to choose one Gibson - my '73 Triumph:

I would take my '83 Alembic, as it is a joy to play.  Not a Gibson, but low-Z like the Triumph and has mahogany content:

And because I'm a synth geek and would also like a guitar handy, I'd consolidate and bring my '83 Roland GR setup, which again is Gibsonesque.  Sort of a reverse Les Paul - mahog on the outside, maple on the inside:

Oh... and the blondes on the island would of course love prog, jazz, Zappa/Mothers, stoner rock, jam bands, etc...

of course, and they would HATE to wear swim suite tops and other upper clothing items!!!

the Guinness would flow cold with the unused feeding the palm trees so they could grow the bass Marshall stacks.

Here they are.  I'd take the LP Signature and the black TB from this group.

And the black Thunderjet below............

Not to mention the Triumph and EB-650 above!!!

I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Hmmm...tough choices.  If it got down to it, it would be:

The Holy Crap bass

The Bettie Page bass

The L-1000 (it was the first bass I got when I decided to collect more, and my wife bought it for me)

I'd sorely miss the Hamer and the Magnatone, but if push came to shove...
Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty

I only got 2 basses (Epi Tbird & pee-bass copy) and a geetard (Epi LP with lipstick hums), so it's an extremely easy choice for me.
Jealous, anybody? :P
