New Kiss Cort

I believe the bass above wasn't posted here yet? I know Basvarken is a huge fan of the Cort Axe bass and rumours are that he's replacing all his Hobbits with those awesome basses. Now he can buy a new baby!

Only if there's real fake blood (?) and sweat on the bass. And perhaps some make up smears.

This looks like a production model Punisher, it's a bolt-on and it has the Cort name on it so it ought to be quite a bit less expensive than the hand-signed original.

"For over 35 years GENE SIMMONS has been defining Rock with his unique flare."

I wonder what illuminative qualities they are referring to?

The man has some flair, certainly, but I wasn't aware of his light-generating qualities.

I think these are priced around what the Cort Axe bass goes for. I saw the pricing somewhere (maybe TB) but can't remember.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Axe II bass. A very nice piece of work for the money. Fit and finish are very good, it plays great  and the Mighty Mite pups have a lot more balls than I thought they would. I bought one for a larff it surprised me.,

The one that I tested was a piece of crap.

Worst neck dive I've ever had to deal with
Very wide neck.
Bland pickups without any balls
Finish was not really a labour of love. The airbrushed transition between black and silver was done rather crudely.

Well of course it neck dives! I like the neck, I found the profile very comfortable. I thought for the price ($375 new) it was well worth it for the fun factor. The body is rather complicated and well executed, again fit and finish were very good on mine, certainly better than some other brands in this price range. For example no file marks in the fingerboard or cutter nips in the frets. The pickups while a bit harsh sounding were plenty loud. I just use the neck pup, maybe it sounded good because of the Hiwatts?  ;D I would never reccomend this bass as someones main axe (LOL pun intended) but it surely is built well enough. It is a perfectly serviceable bass. I have paid far more and got far less.

I am sure your review of the Axe  was impartial and objective  ;D

Yes and honest

That remark about the fake blood, sweat and make up smears was because the very same bass was first sold to fans at  after gig meet n greets for $ 5000.

I guess we can agree to disagree, but calling it a piece of crap is a bit of a stretch imho.
