Look, it was £41/$66... it was just crying out for a buyer...
"Not Working" was in the text by the seller - quick inspection showed no wiring from the pots to the jack socket - might have something to do with it...
Neck is scarfed - actually feels quite nice, Jazz like... bolt on... - bridge needs to be moved 1/4" further back as the E wrapping is sitting on the saddle - I'll report back when I get her working... some time next summer, knowing my pace of work... :P

Nice score Kenny that looks like a ton of fun or 66 bucks !
-
That's what I thought... ;D
-
If the neck's good and it looks okay otherwise, hard to go wrong at that price.
-
On the nail...
-
I would say a decent set of tuners, electronics hardware and 2 pups is worth $66, you could burn the rest to keep the shed warm if need be.
-
Vee shape + MM pups = my nightmare. But for the money, even I could have bought that! :P
-
Cool! Congrats!
-
Great buy and well worth it for a new toy.
-
Well done ol' cock! nice score 8)

Now you just need four cans of Aquanet hairspray, a rack setup, and a coke habit. VH-1 will come rabidly knocking at your door to find out what band you were in so that they can talk about how much of an impact you had on pop music and culture. You should really milk this thing.
-
cool. is that a Dean?
-
I've no idea, Bryan... the seller calls themselves "GEAR4MUSIC" which is what is on the head (going to go)... She's almost certainly of Chinese origin... the more I've been messing with her the more I like the neck... I think it may just be oiled... really quite fast... I just need to wire up - the pups are humbuckers with a four-core cable - the pots are minis - and it has one of those odd flat things attached to one of them - that'll probably have to go...
There's a perverse part of me that's thinking... fretless V... :o got to find out what the sound is like first...

+1 - not sure if the beard could take all four cans... and coke just gives me GAS... ;D

If you slay any goats with it, remember to clean the neck before playing. Messy otherwise.
-
If you slay any goats with it, can I have a leg?
-
Hey Kenny wtf happened? I thought you were a veggie, and now you're chasing goats?

That's the one, Phil
Now rest assured, I intend to give this one a pretty floral pattern so I can enhance my green cred, maybe a defret to tone down her cruise-missle tendencies... first gotta get the bridge relocated and wired up...
I now have two black basses... something has to give...
Anyway, Exiled, I know how fond the Greeks are of a nice goat moussaka... ;D

Hmm, I posted a bad pic, ofcourse you can find better ones if you google 'Hendrix V'
-
Goats move way faster than sheep Kenny, they are hard to get lovers, and are on the promiscuous side, so I've heard.
-
Re Hendrix Vee...
(just had this tingle run the length of my spine...)

Jackie knows that if I use the grill, the smoke alarm IS going to go off... ;)

:D :D

One of my co-workers doesn't claim to be a great cook. She says her kids used the smoke alarm as the dinner bell.

have you been to the Really Old Joke Store again?

The V has made it to the shed and lays upon the bench stripped - pondering on what to do next - going to sideline this as I want to complete the RD rebuild sooner rather than later...
-
How does it play Kenny? And what about balance?

Actually a true quote from my co-worker...also, of course, an old joke...but she wasn't necessarily joking.

Surprisingly well, purely acoustically... I never tried with a strap prior to strip-down - I'll post the issues once I start to but the Goat back together and let you know... most important for me is to relocate the bridge and sort out the intonation issues...

Watch out, Uwe will insist you put a 3 point on it.
-
Nah... he'd approve - all black hardware... even the screw and the neck-plate - maybe I should use some black dye on the neck before oiling... :vader:
-
Just bought a Mighty Mite fretless Jazz neck off 'bay which may leave me with a Squier Jazz neck which makes me think... :vader:
