Looks like Fender has a role in this:

Great news if they follow through with the original designs. This has got to be better than FMIC's brand revival of about 20 years ago, which were Sunn in name only.

FMIC owns the brand, so they would have to be involved.

They’re pricey , but made in the USA. And there are enough diehard Sunn fans to have driven up vintage prices. But I wonder how many they will manage to sell.
And I wonder if they’ll bring back the 612 cab that was made for the 2000S.  I’ve always wondered about that one …

Mission Engineering is its own success story, so their involvement gives me greater confidence. It also explains the amplified cabinets, likely just rebranded Mission FRFR boxes.

I also wonder how many old Sunn tube amp players will be interested. Hard to tell. I do wish them the best.

A few pedal builders now make 'Sunn in a box' pedals that sound like Beta or Model T amps. The number of folk who need all the volume on tap, who don't already own vintage Sunn heads, must be quite small?

If I had the money, I'd go the whole hog and get 5 2000s heads with a couple 2x 15s for each head just for kicks. I'm not that guy but it would only take a few geezers with more money than sense and they're probably out there.

Where’s the like button?

If I had the room and the budget I’d have some stacks in the house. This one popped up on TB and had my wheels spinning.

I'm glad to see it, but wonder how many people will pay $3200 US for an ultra-simple 65w bass amp.

I agree.  This was the loudest and most productivr amp that I ever had. . . . .but $3.200 I'll pass.

In a world of class D bass heads that fit in your gig bag pocket and produce 500—1,000 watts of awesome bass tone without clipping or farting out, I honestly don't understand these. But to each their own.

It looks better than my GK MB500, I'll give you that.

I hope for their sake that they don't build too many. 2x15 cabs aren't exactly all the rage these days either.

So far just the lower wattage 100s and 200s. I wonder if they’ll reissue the 2000s.

I really liked the Sunn Coliseum-300 amp I had.  Wonderful EQ options, and sounded great.  I only sold it because I got old and had to go with lighter gear.  I think their decision to use Class D as part of their lineup makes a lot of sense.

I was not aware that Mission was a U.S. based OEM for other companies. The brand relaunch makes even more sense in that context.

I may need to get one of these T shirts.

Yes the Class D handbag amps sure are a nice thing if you don't have a crew or even bandmates to help load in and out. I love my pair of Streamliners. But the best tone I get is from my 67 Showman through a Sunn 4x12" sealed cab with 60w Celestions. Which comes sorta close to what my lamented 68 Hiwatt produced.

Thanks to Happy Face for reminding me of this.  I've always used GK amps and agree the MB series doesn't look great (sound great, though).  But have you checked out the newer Legacy series?  I love my L800.  It looks like a mini 800RB.  Sounds and looks great, IMO.

You can still get those amps serviced by the guy that designed them. The front LED had gone out on mine , so I sent it off. It’s like a brand new amp now , and was well worth investing in.
It’s been a while since they were made.
