When I had Blizzard on vinyl, I don't recall the mix sounding so great either. A little like it was recorded in a dumpster under water. The 2011 re release CD sounded clearer but still maintained the aggressive rough feel. Randy was definitely cooking too, along with the whole band.

Great playing.
But I still think the bass on the entire album sounds hilarlously crappy ...   :-X
Blasphemy! The EB-3 is what made that album sound so classic in all it's grunty fuzzy hot and slightly overdriven glory.

Just because I love Beck playing the Esquire.

Grain and solid color together with a glossy top coat. What's not to love?

I'm tired of all advertising. Summer is around the corner and I think I'm going to ditch my cable tv service for a while. Someone had to remind me that Fiat owns Chrysler. Does this mean car chases in the movies are all going to start looking like this?

This study makes so much sense. Clearly, is a master of the most intricate compositional skills.

I was just pulling your leg Uwe. My first fling was with a 19 year old when I was 17 and it worked out pretty nicely at the time. At 36, I can't say I'd turn down many 20 somethings that I come across these days.

Digging on fifteen year olds eh Uwe? Well I guess things are a little more laid back in Germany. I'd say 35 is a bit over the hill for child bearing. Hope if I get a chance to reproduce my mate will be 30 or under. A younger mother should help reduce the chances of having an autistic kid.

Could be a decent player. You'll have to do something about the G string bridge saddle.

Sounds like Jack's been taking lessons from hieronymous.

They also show cream and white as options on their site. I might ask if they can do a custom set in Zebra for me just for kicks.

It's too nice out this time of year to be posting blues tunes. Here's a song from a band I can't get enough of lately. It has the word blues in the title of the song. Close enough.

I sent an e-mail to DiMarzio inquiring about the X2N versus X2NB. Steve Blucher replied and advised me to go with (2) neck position D Activator X pups. Same dual blade design, but they apparently have a better low end. They worked out great with a similar vibe to a Gibson TB+.

That's interesting that he recommended two neck pickups. Do you miss the extra power on the bridge pup? I wonder if they would make the D activator X in cream. Could be a good match for my Epi LP. Speaking of LP basses, my custom LP build with Stambaugh is heading into final shaping and should be going out for finishing within a couple weeks. Between that and the return of my old P, I'm swimming in basses. I'll get some good group shots together when I have a chance. Maybe I'll get some of the girls from the newly opened "Tilted Kilt" located a few feet from my condo to pose with my basses. Should make for some exciting pics if I can pull it off.

Hope Malcom is doing ok. AC/DC was a big part of my love affair with rock once I started growing hair on my sac. If they didn't make another album I wouldn't be too worried. I'll just listen to the stuff from their prime or turn on the radio.

Steve said he'd have it done in no time. Ordering the pickguard material will be the longest part of the wait. About the Legends. They have their fans I'm sure but they are a little too flat for my tastes. The E string seemed more on the dead side and out of balance with the rest of the set. From what I've heard about Pyramid golds it seems they may be similar sounding and if you like those you might like the Legends.
