I think the original knobs fit the raw look of the bass.
I understand Rob's comment, they look very un-rock'n'roll - dare I say Wishbassy?

My skull knobs have of course shifted the overall appearance towards Pirates of Caribbean/Marvel prop! But I thought the bass deserves a slightly scandalous/outrageous/hilarious look. I was never too obsessed about being taken serious. Most musicians tend to be, I've seen some pained, sour-puss looks with my BFG from musicians while non-musical people always dig it (
"Are those skulls real?" "Yup, I hunted down little rodent gnomes for them!" ).
