This seller wants $1299 for a rusted, deteriorated, headless restoration project. There was a nice Hobbit on consignment at a St. Paul shop a few months ago in VG condition. It was $1299.

I wouldn't offer him more than 20% of his BIN.

Grog

That's more than I paid for both of mine together! This one is modified & in pieces.  :vader:

That control plate is a guitar control plate. I wonder why and how it got mounted on this bass.

He must have replaced his broken bass control plate with a guitar plate. The components were all the same with the exception of the decade missing on the bass & different switch locations. I noticed the amber light (switch?) in the decade switch hole, but never picked up on the control plate change..........

Just the pups alone are worth 20% or even a bit more.

Listing ended due to an error. I'm thinking temporary insanity.

I don't doubt you. But looking at the gunk on that thing, you have to consider the cost of toxic waste cleanup.

There we go.  The electronics/hardware is worth that much.

In that case it's possibly a great deal. The head crack looks rather clean. Certainly doable for a skilled luthier.
Only small worry are the sides of the headstock. Looks like someone trimmed them down a bit?
It may need a new face plate to get back in it's former glory.
