Highlander

The Great Adventure begins...

To explore strange new worlds... (tickets bought... fly up in the next few days)
To seek out new life... (er... a rental whilst we source a new home)
These are the voyages of the Starship Highlander, Captain Kenny in command (you must be joking!), with wife, daughter, fourteen fish, and a small white fluffy alien that emanates an aura of cuteness...

Coming soon to a small screen near you...

Exchanged contracts yesterday afternoon and we leave our home of 23.5 years on 16th September and should be over the border on the 18th... dropped the (work) bombshell last night and it works out I have enough leave accrued to only have to work 6 days in the next four weeks... oops... my boss might react, but a fait-accompl is a fait-accomplii ...

In a time-honoured tradition, and quoting an old work colleague, verbatim... What's he going to do... sack me...? ;)
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

That sounds like that will be a lot of fun.  Calling it a Great Adventure seems accurate to me.  Congratulations.   :)

Best of luck finding a new place quickly. I know you'll do well across the border.

I've been wrong before, but I'm assuming he means Scotland.

Does Ken need a license to export a crate of squirrels on this move?   ???

That's the plan, Michael... try our best to live the dream... ;)

Company did NOT take the bomb well... quote/unquote - that's rather short notice, Ken, you could have told us you were moving to Scotland... (I just did!), but, but, but...
Anyway, long and short is unemployed from 4th September and they know where they can stick it...
I have an interview first thing Monday morning in Inverness (Highlands capital... well... only city...)

I'm a firm believer in trying the best you can to live in a place you really like.  You don't want it to be like that line from the Randy California song "there's a thousand places I'd rather be."----"Things Yet To Come" I think it's called.
