So, that's some more vindication for my counter to Uwe's poo pooing the expansion circuit on the RD Artist.  :P

I never wanted my bass to sound like Angus' darn SG.

Great read.

Slightly off topic: I'm not a big REM fan, but I don't dislike them either. The guitar solo in WTFK is one of my all time favourites.

It's hard to like them because they were so hugely popular and Herr Stipe such a "I'm a serious artist"-sourpuss. That said, I always liked when he mimics Elvis on Man on the Moon and this here:

Stipe sure has acting talent, I love the way how he lampoons all anchor men (and women) mannerisms, especially the "frozen eyebrow, I just asked a critical question"-facial expression.  And the song is a true Ohrwurm.

REM what to say............... I loved the early stuff, I saw them at the Auditorium in Rochester NY in '83. I lived literally right around the corner at the time. The show was sparsely attended, made one less by me, they were bloody awful and I walked out.

This number... a bit like finding a place called the Killkenny viewpoint, or South Park and "Oh No you've killed Kenny"...

I'm digging the other band mentioned in that article.  Not so hot on dude's falsetto, but the rest is working for me.

Just the "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" - it's all in the "name", that's all...
