I know this model got a real slagging here when it was released and I did agree on most of it but when I got my hands on this baby two years ago, all was forgotten ........



Sure, the PUPs look cheapo and ugly as sin and the design is all over the place but she plays like butter and she's probably the best contructed bass I own. The PUPs sound really good, albeit with a bit too much presence in the high & hi-mid frequencies for my taste ( but that's what pre-amp controls are made for, right ?!!  ), and the neck is a joy. She works really nice in the band and the Rock Orange fin really stands out .......

So curiousity got the better of me and I had to ask: Any other ( secretly ) converted LBO members in the meantime ?

Don't own one, but WANT.

When I stopped by Bass NW in Seattle a couple of years ago, they had seven Reverends hanging in a row.  Never seen that before!

I don't like the look of the big pickups on it but I like the overall look of the bass. Wish I could try one out but have yet to see one. I did mess with a different Reverend model recently and it felt very well made. Didn't have time to plug it in to see how it sounded. Same look to the pickups tho.

Saw Meshell Ngdecello a year ago and she had one that sounded fantastic, (well no matter what she plays she sounds good,previously she was mostly armed her old Jazz bass, a Celinder and a Fender Musicmaster). I couldnt get past the looks but as you say when you get one in your hands and it feels, plays and sounds right who cares.

There's something about the design that I find cool.  Not a fan of the pups, but the rest of it is appealing.

You sure?  Looks like she has a sig model based on their standard Thundergun model (but with a single rail P pup vs P/bucker config, as in the Dub King above):

Same here. Nice design, IMHO doesn't look cluttered like the Dub King.

Should balance nicely too, with the extension of the upper horn and the strap mount.

I have a Reverend Brad Houser, fine bass, never had any issues with it, one of the few basses where I can't remember ever adjusting the neck. Has an authoritative sound. Sorry for the crappy pic.

There's something very 50's about that Reverend series.  Kind of like the Formica pattern that has all the interlocking boomerangs in it.
