I don't know how many of you are aware of him but he was a genius, a true bass great and the inventor of a new music genre: mambo.

I bought a couple of his cds (Sessions 1 & 2) after reading about him in Bass Player.  some of it was pretty good, some didn't do much for me, but he's a real player for sure.  he pretty much drove the songs.

There was a big article about him in a Bass Player of earlier this year. Just before he died...
