Gig tonight! (Long Beach, NY)
« on: March 27, 2015, 01:34:45 PM »
I know many of you are not in the same country, much less city, but I play live so rarely these days (about once a year) that I can't resist a little self-promotion!

World Record Players
tonight at 9pm Eastern

at the Whale's Tale
916 W Beech St
Long Beach, New York 11561   USA

At least 2 sets, possibly a third if the crowd stays with us that long.
I believe there is no cover charge.

The place is small, it will be loud.
I'll be playing my LPB-1 and/or Danelectro DC bass through the Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 into a pair of EA cabs.

Oh right... music? ;)

Enjoy the show. I might make it for the last set if I start driving now but I'd probably regret it in the morning when I have to get to work. If you guys take it on the road, look in to Tupelo music hall in Londonderry NH. Best venue to play around here and the guy doing sound for the room knows how to dial it in. Good luck!

Definitely not near south-west London... ;)

Thanks! It was tons of fun.  We played about 2 hours in the end ... start time was delayed by a double-booked birthday party, with the happy effect that a bunch of the birthday partiers stuck around for us.

And I discovered that, in case you find yourself unexpectedly menaced by a giant shark on the ceiling, you need a hefty bass to protect you.  The LPB-1 works well.

Sharks are so scary that even protecting yourself from one that isn't real is still probably a good idea.

That was nice having birthday party guests to add to the audience.  The more the merrier.

Glad you had fun!

I'm missing playing out (Haven't had a show since NYE) because of a problem with my right shoulder that I'm doing physical therapy for, no shows for me until May  :-\

You should use your left hand then when you're good to yourself.

Get well soon!

I'll bet that band isn't even close to the same without you!

 I have been, it's so different  :-[

The band doesn't play without me, even tho I stoutly maintain that it's group they all treat it as if it's "my" band. I've been enjoying my trains quite a lot lately too, plus I will have a new feline living at the house very soon. Pics on that day :)
