I picked this up a while back and I thought that I'd share it with you.

I wanted to pick up a five string and I was figuring on either an American Standard Precision V or an EBMM Stingray HH (or maybe a HS). Precisions are usually the first bass that I reach for, but I have a 1995 Stingray 4 that gets some love too.

But then I ran across this. I had been curious about the Dimensions since they came out. I played it, and found that it has a feel and sound that is quite different. I'm not yet a wiz on five strings, but I use it some every day and it is getting more familiar.

Oh, and I had Pickguardian made a black guard for me so it fits in with the group.

Thanks gang. Yes I do have a lot basses for a drummer, there are those who think that I have a lot of basses for a bass player...

Drums are my primary instrument, always have been. I'm also a hand percussionist. For the past several year I've been working hardest on my bass studies. I think that I'm a decent drummer/percussionist, and I keep busy.

As a bassist I'm currently average, but improving fast. I play hand percussion in two bands and drums in two bands. In both projects in which I play hand percussion, I switch to bass for part of the night, which I really enjoy.

To challenge myself I've been working on learning the bass part for every song that I play in all four bands. It's actually been very beneficial to immerse myself in each song that way.

And yes, I own a lot of drums too!
