This time with a neck-thru construction. And an SW model.

That's good news, especially the walnut model.

I thought the 80s-90s 4003S were neck through.

Paul Boyer

They were, Dave. Only the 4000 and 4001S of the '70s to early '80s were set neck.

Ooops. Paul is correct. I was thinking of the 4000.

Scott shouldn't type when he's all hot and bothered!!!  ;D  He the nds to leave dan gling particip les and such.

I have to admit, I do find them attractive.  Being a RIC novice, I am still quite enamored with my FG 4003.  If I have some cash lying around at the right time, I might consider one later on.

LOL Yes I'm a bit excited. The HOG just got in a Mapleglo 4003 and I was going to pop for it but I told Curt to get me a 4003s

What's the timeline on the 4003s?

I still regret passing on a used Mapleglo 4003S at GC back in the late 90s. Like new, and they had a $500 tag on it (you could get a new Rick for under a grand with discount back then) and were willing to go lower because somehow they thought the pickups weren't original (they were). And I just thought, well, I don't really need a second Rick bass.  Silly me!

Why is it that my practical side almost exclusively only kicks in when it's a deal I'll regret not making at some point?
