My neck has some odd finish cracks, this might be the ticket. Even the serial number is right with the last digit missing...........

I've been thinking of sending it somewhere, never thought I would find a nice neck............. Hell I'm putting in a bid!

Everything is identical with the exception of the truss rod adjuster. Also, it looks like it may not have the final (nitro) finish on it yet. The Black looks dull. The main thing is the Luna Silver! I cant think of any thing else in this color. I'd been planning for years to send the neck somewhere for touch up or a refin. The paint has peeled off almost as if the wood had oil or something on it before it was sprayed. My sons Q-80 neck is doing the same thing in a few spots. Thanks for posting it! The likelihood of anybody else bidding on it is slim............ :o

If you wait long enough, anything you could possibly need, eventually comes up on eBay. This has got to be the unlikeliest part ever!

Is your neck funky also??

It looks like some modifying will be necessary for the truss rod nut.............

The NOS neck has a totally different allen wrench type of nut. There isn't enough clearance in the body or the pickguard to adjust it. I'll have to try to machine up a custom brass nut......

It looks like the square opening in the NOS neck is smaller than my original neck. There must have been a change in design midstream.............
Maybe I can just switch nuts?....................

You'll probably be able to swop them over... can't see them changing the rod with such a limited run... this may have been fitted because someone has lost the "original"...?

The neck on mine has some stress marks in the finish too. But not as severe as yours.
And the brass nut is slightly damaged from older attempts to tighten it with the wrong size tool.

Not that I ever needed to adjust it.
So go ahead and bid. Goodluck!

I threw a bid in yesterday, so far I'm the only bidder.

My nut is kind of chewed up also. If I make any, I'll make a couple............ The Ferrari Red bass is almost mint. Doesn't look like it ever needed adjustment.

Mine came from Italy at the time with the exactly right size wrench. Very thoughtful the seller was.

I brought the bass & neck in to get the neck sprayed with nitro, last Friday. It was only painted prior to sitting on a shelf for 25 years. I stamped a "9" for the last digit of the serial number, now that matches the original. With the exception of non-yellowed nitro, it should match perfectly. I received an email from eBay yesterday, congratulating me on my 12 year anniversary with them. This neck has to be the most unlikely find in 12 years of buying some of the most obscure stuff made for guitars!  :P :P :P
