From Colorado, here's the traditional shot of the smoker in full operation with 20-pound turkey inside.

We do the non-anal version of stuffing. (Wince.) I don't like stuffing myownself, but the wife and oldest daughter do.  They make it on the stove.  I'm more focused on the sweet taters and other goodies.

I heard a lengthy interview with the founder and CEO of this outfit on NPR the other night and he was very interesting and his business is very successful but it sure didn't sound appetizing to me.

My bro fried a wild turkey a couple years back that was terrific. Happy Thanksgiving my bass playing brothers from another Mother!

Nope, that's a brand new picture - last year's was a horizontal and this is a vertical.

The turkey was great! 20 pounds = 6 hours in the smoker = yum.  Glad to help make your Thanksgiving complete!

Indeed, Buzz, indeed... it was George who enlightened me (part of his missionary services ;)) on this wondrous bit of Americana and you can see an older version of Al's smoker... maybe we should check for signs of corrosion, after all, roosters never sleep... :o

I keep a cover over that smoker when not in use!  I've touched up the firebox with high-temp paint just once in 12 years.  All the newer smokers are made of much thinner metal, and I want to keep this one in good shape.

Unfortunately Charmglow or some similar big company bought New Braunfels smokers shortly after I bought mine. They soon proceeded to reduce the thickness of metal in their smokers by about 50%. Pfaugh!  I wouldn't own one of those sheet-metal imitations; they'll rust out in less than a decade.  If I needed another smoker, I'd go to a local welding shop and have them make one out of a couple of good stout tanks.

I don't have a smoker so I baked a chicken.  :)
