I kinda miss Tower Records! In the days of vinyl, their stores were magical places.

Actually, this choice of site for a "Gibson brand everything megastore" (sort of like a Nike superstore) ain't so bad. It's what Henry J always wanted: Become a life style brand that transcends the mere utilitarian character of the product. Like Nike, like Harley-Davidson.

There's a place just outside of Chicago called Rolling Stones Records. Been around forever, and definitely magical! They're surprisingly still in biz, but they sell a lot less records, and a lot more t-shirts, DVDs, memorabilia, and I think smoking accessories nowadays. They had the best cutout bins. Lots of cool stuff for cheap. Eloy, Jane, Nektar, etc...

Jane?!!! You must be the only Yank who heard about them!

I hope it fares better than Gibson's last Hollywood venture....the West Coast Custom Shop.

At least from the photo, the new location comes with a pre-made "Going Oit of Business" sign. :)
