That's a '66 clone: blocks, no binding with lollipops
'66 is dots and binding. There never was a blocks without binding period.

I dig the dots & binding look - Fender Japan had a limited edition '66 Jazz Bass reissue when I was living there around 2005 maybe, was very tempted. I think I could get into the blocks & no binding too - is it even that visible that there isn't binding?

It's visible to the player and that's what counts.

Street price for Adam Clayton Signature Jazz bass in Canada is $1999.50 Cdn. Between Fender and Gibson it seems to me that bass prices are getting out of hand.

Please keep your eyes open for my stolen 1973 Burgundyglo Rickenbacker 4001 Serial # MD1582. It was stolen in November of 2006. Reward for its return. Thx!

Shows how much attention I've paid to U2 in recent years.  I assumed Adam Clayton was still playing Gibsons LOL

I thought he was playing what paid the biggest $$endorsement$$ fees ;D

slinkp

I must have blinked and missed when he played Gibsons?. When I was a big U2 fan (hey, it was 1984 and I was 14) he seemed to always have either a Fender Jazz or an Ibanez of some sort, and he seemed to have Fenders every time I'd seen a photo since then.
Basses: Gibson lpb-1, Gibson dc jr tribute, Greco thunderbird, Danelectro dc, Ibanez blazer.  Amps: genz benz shuttle 6.0, EA CXL110, EA CXL112, Spark 40.  Guitars: Danelectro 59XT, rebuilt cheap LP copy

That upside down Explorer was hideous. Like Paul Gilbert's upside down Ibanez Iceman. Not every reverse body can be un-reversed.

With one Gibson...

I also know of him using Les Paul Sig, LP Recording, TBII, TBIV, TBNR, EB2, and a lot of Fenders...

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

I do like the Warwick Reverso. But like a Fender Bass V it's not pretty seeing it vertically. It looks too strange and fat. But if you strap it on, it looks gorgeous.

Warwick made several basses for Clayton, all custom shop. Several Star Basses, Streamers, Reverso's. Even in the Warwick time, Fender made some very limited Custom Shop basses with Clayton's name. I remember a gold sparkle? I guess like Pete Townshend, with a Rick sig, a lot of Gibson sigs and playing mostly Fender's and Fender amps, those very famous people are 'above' endorsements? Nobody cares if they play more brands?
