No, I didn't "need" another Precision.

I always thought the American Select Precisions were stunning, I also thought that it was highly unlikely that I'd ever own one. I was wrong. One popped up on ebay brand new, new old stock for a crazy cheap price. I took a leap of faith and bought. Wow, just wow.

The fingerboard is a work of art in itself.

It came with a parchment guard. To me anything that is burst and maple is calling out for a black guard.

I love that neck so much that I ordered a Select P neck from "Stratosphere" for a project that I've just starting to put together. It came in today and it's beautiful, but the neck on this P is on another level.

The new project just happens to involve a Burst/Maple neck/Black guard combination as well.

I love the Select P as well. I thought I was over P basses and only had a '60 th anniversary and a 7 lb '55 CS left. i went straight home and that '60th went as part of the down payment. I love the select flame as well. I normally don't care for the heavier flamy look , but it works on these. Also love the slab horns. Mine Weighs in at 8 1/4 lbs which is a plus. Eventually got a Select Jazz as well (the passive version). These Selects are resonant and amazing instruents. Got to hand it to them.

I hung on to my 60th P.

I think that the black guard gives it some 70's vibe.

Here is another photo, showing the flame. (I had it in the lightweight chainsaw case.)
