It's obviously a loss leader promotion for reverb.com, $3 shipped: Reverb Clip-on Tuner - Limit 1

When you buy it and give your shipping info, you register at reverb.com so I'm sure that's the purpose. Nothing wrong with that. No idea how long the deal will last.

Thanks, Dave!  I hope it works as well as my Snark.  We sure have come a long way from tuning forks.

Things are way more convenient now.  But I miss the old days, too.  Tuning by ear could be fun.

I got notice that mine was shipped less than 12 hours after I ordered.

In the thread at TDPRI where I saw this, someone pointed out that they're also running a promo on instrument cables -- $7 and $9 for 10 or 20 foot cloth covered cables, shipping included, limit one. Another good deal. https://reverb.com/marketplace/accessories?condition=all&make=reverb

I still let my ears be the final judge.

Cool. Thanks, Dave!

My ears are the final judge as well, but $3 for a tuner is a no brainer.

My being able to tune by ear so well is probably better than my playing, though.  Sadly, that is probably not an exaggeration.  Good ear and good meter, but unable to improvise like a madman and probably won't be winning any awards.

That's okay, the ability to improvise has never impressed me. I like structured songs with tasteful playing, not listening to someone making it up as he goes along.

Thanks, I feel the same.

It's here and it works fine. Compared to my Snark, the indicator seems a little jumpier before settling down, but it's accurate. For three bucks it's hard to go wrong.

Power button is On only, it shuts off by itself after three minutes with no signal.

Got mine today, that was quick!  It's accurate but only tunes open strings.  Well worth $3.
Hold down the on button for a few seconds, Dave.  It will shut off.

Reverb Tuner FAQ

Note there are 5 modes: C-G-B-V-U, for Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, Violin and Ukulele.

It does tune open strings in the Chromatic mode, not in the guitar or bass mode.

My turn to thank you, Dave.  The chromatic mode works great!  I read the 'MANAUL', it says nothing about modes.  I was a little disappointed until your post.   Great backup to the Snark.

Thanks for the heads-up.  My son and I both ordered one.

If you want to order more than one, turns out that Chicago Music Exchange is selling them for $5. here.
