Epi Elite Tbird Restore
« on: July 15, 2008, 05:17:06 PM »
I got this off ebay from a knucklehead that claimed it was his repair guys' bass (scary). It is a nightmare under the black paint(nice bondo job don't you think?) It came with Gibson USA humbucking guitar pups and a Badass bridge, seller claimed awesome sounding, yeah right. He also claimed awesome setup, the E string was 1/8th" off the first fret.It is in the hands of a good luthier and I will post more pics of progress and when it is done.

Wow, weird!  Keep us posted, those are nice basses, it's a shame you don't have the original pickups, they sound pretty good.

I saw that one on Ebay. I was wondering what was hiding under the black paint.

The thing I like about this bass is it is very close to my '64,body and neck wise.It is going to get the 60s treatment. The damaged wood will be replaced and the tobacco sunburst put back on.I have NOS pups coming from a guy on Talkbass. My repair guy said he may have a 60s bridge he will give me.Nice guy.I should know today or tomorrow.I'm stoked.
