I'm really diggin' that plumglo, Burgundy Mist is my absolute favorite Fender color. Might be a good refin option for a Rick that needs it.
Certainly would be more economic than $3K+.

From what I can see, they are both metallic. Kinda like slightly lighter versions of Midnight Blue and Ruby. Hmm. More fodder for the second edition. ;)

They're both nice. The blue doesn't look metallic to me, but I could be wrong.

The Japanese website, through Google Translate, says both are metallic:

Special finish of the "Model 4003" is true!
coloring that followed the Model 4003, characterize the looks, adopted by the limited color two color vivid novel was not to Rickenbacker ever basic spec.
Was the image of a blue that clarity of Santa Ana a rural resident of Rickenbacker's "Santa Ana Skyglo". In addition, reminiscent of plums shining bright sunshine of California "Metallic Plumglo", a color that has a depth and a sense of quality that includes a fine both metallic, while novel, claiming the presence like Rickenbacker. Both models full of personality, color Rickenbacker was blown up in great deal of effort is finished in model different from the regular color.

Nice. They've been a lot more experimental in the spray booth the past few years.

What's the price differential over standard colors?  The paint can't be costing them more than $5 a bass extra depending on how many they run.  Twenty can easily be done with a gallon.

I'm waiting for this shade:

-Ricks guaranteed to bring the funk!

BTW, in the band scene from that movie:

that looks an AWFUL lot like a young Victor Wooten sporting a purple guitar.

I think the blue is uglo and the red dul(g)lo.

The body shapes look different, is that just the photography or have I missed a change of earth-shattering proportions?
