Carlo's three point replacement bridge revived my interest in this idea, I had drawn it up a long time ago but shelved it. The bridge would be two piece with a 60's style tail piece. The small screw hole would be filled by a low profile screw that could be painted to match. The bridge will be about 3/8"-1/4" wider than the one pictured. Any interest out there my Thunderbird bretheren?

DO IT!!!!!!  ;D

Seriously, that's so cool Scott.
I think a thread in chrome cap will be great for the un-used post. My Sixx Mk.II wants one now!

Scott,

There are so many guys on the T Bird thread that want that vintage look created by the chrome pickups and clover tuners, this bridge is the perfect accompaniment - Especially considering that most guys don't like 3 points (even if I do!) Plus, the market is much, much larger for this bridge compared to the vintage segment. There are thousands of 'Birds awaiting your genius!
Let me know, I'd love to be first in line!

Post this in club thread on TB too, pls!

Centre hole... a CSK or grub screw would be even more flush...

I think you'll sell plenty Scott. Especially if it comes with a template to mount the tail piece. My NR RI is sporting a Supertone. If I could get chrome studs, (I dumped all the black hardware) I'd replace it with this in a heartbeat.

If ONLY you could get copper mutes like the original ones had...that would cover the hole.

I think it's a sterling idea.  I'm no fan of chrome hardware, but I've got an old 90s TB that could use a facelift!

Guys looks like the thread for the big anchor is different than 60's spec. Anyone know what thread size and does anyone have a chrome or black one to sell? I have one  Where the other is I don't know. I want to install the current Badbird on my Butcherbird, I know it won't intonate but It will give me some good info as to feasibility.

I kinda like this idea Baz but in the end it is a pretty useless piece of metal.

I did a test installation on the Buctherbird this morning things line up pretty well. The intonation is off just a bit I don't think I'll have to widen the bridge much.
