This is Ukranian artist Alexander Hustevich playing Concerto No. 2 in G minor (Summer) from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Video is from 2008, I hadn't hear it before today.

Cabin fever... right? ;D

Who, me? Nope. Dakota and I did cut our morning walk to just a little over 3/4 mile, though, since it was about -7 F. But it's warmed all the way up to zero now!

A positively balmy 30f two nights back... took five minutes to warm the Passat up so I could see out the screen... ;D

(Jeez, that's cold, Dave...!)

I mentioned some of this in a post months ago.  But one of the people I went with to the Golden Earring concert near Rotterdam this summer was an accordion player.  She is quite good and even teaches accordion.  Speaking of Golden Earring, they have a song called "The Unforgettable Dream" from their "Face It" album.  It has an accordion in it.  In blends in especially well with George Kooymans guitar.  It's essentially a rock song.  I'd post it but it isn't on YouTube.

If I may offer a whiff of personal philosophy: As long as music comes from within you, it doesn't matter which instrument you play. Albeit: He sounds a bit flat(ulent) to me in parts.

And the Polkanauts need a tuner IMHO. Dropped D tuning by ear isn't for everyone, you know.

Absolutely! It was interesting to me to see his posture and body movement mimic the same motions of a concert violinist playing the same piece.

I don't turn my nose up at accordions. They gave us Ampeg.

There is a complexity about the accordion which doesn't match the popular perception of it being a simple instrument.  It is anything but simple, difficult to learn to play, and capable of getting all kinds of sounds.  My friend who plays the accordion knows more about music than anyone I know with the exception of a friend who teaches music at a local community college.  She does like the Rolling Stones better than the Beatles, but she isn't the only friend I have who does that.   :-\
