Green JCS
« on: July 06, 2008, 01:23:58 PM »
I just discovered this at a Dutch bas forum. As you can see it's old and our Rob (Basvarken) posted a loy.

To cut a long story short: A guy bought a JCS which was already (badly) modded. This guy made it green. I think that's a thing I wouldn't think of, but it came out nice. I also kinda like the Fender cover over the new pick up.

Where is this green JC Bass? I clicked on the link and it definitely went to bass forum but the only JC basses were either sunburst or gold. Where do you find it. I'm curious if he did it in the 60's Guild Starfire emerald green that looks so cool.

It did come out nice. And that's a real deal 70's Fender P pickup cover, not a reissue.

They did a great job, it looks great, more of a sea foam green?

For some reason I was expecting a darker metallic green. Still a nice job.

@ Rob: Thanks!

@ Ilan: how do you see it's a real 70s Fender cover?

The profile. Reissues are more round an tall, real ones are flat and low. I have a pic of a new one next to a real 70's cover, it's really easy to see the difference, I'll post it when I get home from work.

I like that.  I can't tell if it has black back and sides, or if they did two-tone with British racing green.  Either way, it looks good.  I think the Fender cover, while fitting, is perverse, but I think the same of the Les Paul cutaway on the whole lot of those.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Cool looking bass, although I must say that it looked really good in sunburst too.

Chris - here's the pic. the top one is vintage, the one at the bottom is a reissue.

i bet if you put the reissue on and keep bumping into things like singers, walls,WWII planes etc..it would flatten out some. maybe? either way that is a great shade of green.

I like the green too. Something different.
