I think those run 6550s like my Orange... MTI-era. Probably a good sound and build quality, and off the collector radar.

Never understood the logic of suspending valves, with heat rising through the chassis...

Fender amp heads evolved from combos, basically just cutting the electronics part off the speaker part. Took a while for builders to realize there might be a better way.
