Problem with the bass is its in too nice a condition. Now your going to be hyper about scratching it or taking it out of the house.

Lol your right John! Part of it for me is just owning it. I'll play it but only in the right places.

Congrats, Scott.  It's in the right hands!

Much better than a stock cirtificate at least you can play it. Will it sit in its case or on display in your box of crayons?

I hate to be the one that says it (as John's raised the spectre) but Scott did make a comment a year or two back about knowing that an unbroken neck is just one waiting for it to happen, which is why he was reluctant to go there again... I'm not quoting directly, just something in the back of my mind...

Bro... just make sure they are wide open spaces and no sudden turns... more JAE than your usual style... ;)

Hey, there are tons of unbroken Gibson necks out there - I'm sure. There must be plenty of people who have been careful enough to avoid that.

Yes...I'm sure there are.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I have many gibson's, some of them are worn well and have been rocking hard.
I travel with them and play them, I know they can snap easily but they haven't done so yet.
Actually, I've never really seen a broken gibson bass, although I saw a snapped guitar neck once, an SG (late 70's).

It seems that they can handle 40+ years of rock'n'roll pretty well, but of course.. ship it with the wrong company
and it might break anyway...

Which is why I picked it up from Baz!

My Embassy is not only unbroken, but also has a clean finish.  No checking anywhere, and you would probably all cringe at the abuse I gave it for the first 20 years.  It's babied now.

And that's why I drove the Embassy up to Mark when he bought if from me, and then again when I bought it back.

Before I take it out I am going to get a road case for it. Think I'll ask Tom H. if he can do one for me.
