Some miscellaneous thoughts... Well, that's another 4:49 of my life that I won't get back. Oh look - Sean's in the band! What a surprise. It must really kill her that all John's talented genes went to Julian. BTW, what the hell does she need a teleprompter for? In case she forgets whether she's supposed to screech or or do her wild turkey call?

I saw that performance.(unfortunately)  I the asked my wife if she wanted me to go and buy the CD for her and her response: What would I do with it?

It doesn't have the charm of "Don't Worry Kyoko".

It could be worse. I'd much rather hear this than listen to (or look at) Cher.

Use it as a frisbee?

That reminds me, when Cold Turkey was a hit (1969?) it was on the jukebox at the local VFW. Don't Worry Kyoko was the flip side, and a couple of people in our crowd kept playing it until one night when the bartender/manager unplugged the jukebox mid song, yanked it out and tossed it as far as he could into the snowy night. What a spoilsport!

Yoko has that kind of effect on people.

I like that bass line. I'm not wasted enough to keep listening after she stops the 'spoken word' bit.

It gets worse.  Sean has hooked up with Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier.  I was really hoping for something good.  I was wrong.

I agree. It's more interesting than a lot stuff out there. And, she's 80.

Cher now, I agree, back in the day she was a hottie.

Here's another great version of Do ya think I'm sexy. Almost as good as Revco.

....

Never understood her appeal, neither her looks nor her voice.

When she appeared semi-clothed on the cover of TIME 40 years ago, my older next door neighbor asked me what it was that made my generation think she was attractive. I had no answer. He said something like "I can't imagine waking up in the morning next to that!"

Now she's just grotesque looking, like so many other older celebrities with plastic surgery.

It was thirty-six years back when I sat in the front row for the Greg and Cher fiasco at the Rainbow, but from what I recall she was more than passable all in skin-tight and black... it's all eye-of-the-beholder stuff I guess... my eyes are not as good as they were, mind you...

That's because you're not gay. Cher is the gay Elvis. I'm not joking.

I thought that was Judy Garland.

Judy's been dead so long that the current generations don't know who she is or relate to her. Judy was the gay icon of the Boomer generation. Cher is alive to capitalize on it, and she does. It's not exploitative; she just knows and embraces her fan base. My buddy drove one of her tour buses for a few years on her last "farewell" tour. He said it was a great gig, but the crew often learned the hard way that the "pretty girls" weren't.

I saw an interview with Cher recently. She still looks pretty darn good to me.  She clearly acknowledged how important her gay fans were to her carer, and how they've supported her.
