I do notice that endearment with 8 string basses subsides once people actually have one.  :-\

My selling Pinky is primarily financial. I need to pay for my Bruce Johnson. It sounds fantastic but it is, for me anyway, a specialty instrument rather than an everyday player. Wish I could keep it but I can't afford to at this time.

There is a reason why these beasts did not conquer the bass world. Speciality instrument is damn right.

How many bass-type instruments with 6 strings or upwards do you own, Uwe...

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Speak for yourself. After 9 years of trying to get back my old Hamer Thunderbird 8 string (Which is why I started building basses...to attempt to replace it....) I LOVE Mine!!!! And Plan on Building more....Mr. Petersson thinks I build better basses than Hamer. Thanks Tom!

what model scroll are you getting???   AMB 2????

only 18 months   - not bad for Bruce.   He has never met a scheduled delivery date ever.   Kind of dealing with a combo OCD and creative geniuos.   Bad combo for time schedules.

It took me 3 years to get my AEB-2 from Bruce, and I paid in full up front.  He's always courteous, full of info, and makes a gorgeous bass.  It was well worth the wait.  It took a long time for the BaCH birds, too.  I think I got both within a few weeks of each other.  It was an exciting summer!

Excluding a certain "Cheap" player, has anyone else done anything significant...? I can't think of anything or anyone...
