It's here ! Farm fresh as they say. Quite possibly the filthiest bass I have ever bought. I did a quick clean and set up and it plays like a good EB0 should. A classic little thumper delivered to my door for less than 600 bucks I pretty damn happy! Pics soon.

Still a lot of wax on this bass that needs to be cleaned off, I'll have to take it apart at some point but in the mean time got it looking a bit better. Plays and sound great!

 :P  :P  :P

If there were a serious problem with the bridge, he could get the 2-point version of the Hipshot Supertone. Hell, even a Badass Original would be preferable to a 3-point.

Quite frankly, Scott, quite envious of that one... ;)

Dave... there is a Badass #1 lurking in the shed that has graced both the RD and then the PC when she became Tequilabird...

Nope they are the original MOP. The paint has chipped off. I may redo it or leave it as is, I'm not all that bothered by it.

That's something that's made me curious... I vaguely remember removing the "facing" from the front of my '72 SG Special and it being a plastic-type material with a "white" Gibson "print", but looking at the RD the MOP looks like individual pieces rather than something that was painted...

Are they all a solid, single piece with a "painted" logo...?

This was a cost saving measure done by Gibson in '67 (I think) They went back to the cut letter logo pretty quickly but I'm not sure which year.

I think they changed the headstock inlays when or after they switched to the Evertilt bridge.  Both of my 67s, EBO and EB2, have early style bridges and letter logo inlays.

So maybe '68 was the first year for this ?

So the gibson letters were painted on, not a decal overlay?
