Several sellers are unloading some Les Paul Low Impedance pickups on Ebay, this one is for a bass.

They seem to be coming up less often.

No, I have a couple spares. $50.00 opening bid is about as reasonable as I've seen for a while. The last one I tried to buy, I paid $100.00 for it. The seller mailed it in an envelope mailer & the powerful magnets must have latched on to part of one of the conveyers at the post office. The envelope got shredded & the pickup was lost. These were fairly common for a long time, but they seem to be getting scarce lately. Go for it!!

I'll wait and see where it goes.

I may have a take on the lo-z guitar pickups too

The one that Grog posted is a bass pickup (8 wires)
The other ones on Ebay are guitar pickups (2 wires)

I'll stay away from the bass pup bidding if you need spares. I don't even have a lo impedance bass yet, but it's tempting!

Don't go wild on the guitar pup auction, I have at least one working unit if you want to try it out.
Just give me a message if you want one.

Thanx. Much appreciated.

I have one bass with a guitar lo-z pickup installed in the bridge position.
It sounds great.

Plus I have a loaded body with guitar lo-z pickups and the entire wiring intact, waiting for a proper bass. I am going to build one from scratch because the body that carries the pickups and electronics is awful.

But I've been thinking to put two guitar lo-z pickups in a semi acoustic bass. I like the compressed sound of two humbuckers. Maybe use the new BaCH semi acoustics for that idea.

The bass lo-z would be a spare. I have one spare but it has issues. one lug is broken off and the third coiltap is dodgy.

Good luck Rob.... I think I have a working spare; it might have been a problem otherwise.

Yeah, these are getting a little rare - folks are getting wise to them vs years ago when the sight of 8 wires freaked people out (was it you I got that one locally here in Capsule for - it was a guitar shop and they had no idea).  The last few I saw were asking like $300 each which I thought was insane.

The package just came in.
This is by far the most filthy item I have ever bought. Looks and smells as if it was buried in a cat litter box for thirty years.. :puke:.
