Nice! Last year I saw Dweezil on his Zappa Plays Zappa tour. I HIGHLY recommend catching his show if he comes to your town. He and his band played for three hours nonstop and afterwards Dweezil came out and talked to people and answered questions for as long as there were people who wanted to talk to him. It was really cool.

+1.  really good show.  Stuff he did with his dad on tape was cool.

Nice... I am always impressed how well he captures the heart of his dad's sound and playing style...

Saw senior, but no idea if junior has/ever will come over this side of the pond...

I believe the Zappa playes Zappa tour was in Holland once. Was it also Dweezil who was enageged with and played with Lisa Loeb? In that case I saw him play with her.

Denis

That was me playing with Lisa Loeb.  ;D

Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

i saw zappa during the 'roxy' period. if you never saw frank and company live dweezil is a poor substitute. sorry kids, my opinion.

I didn't look at it as a sub.  Saw Frank for 13 straight years on Haloween eve at the paladium.   Nobody could sub for that.   Like many others that is gone forever.       But I thought his son doing dad's songs  and the videos was a nice tribute to the man.   Saw it once     but will probably not go back.

In case you didn't check out the link. This new release isn't Dweezil's group despite what the title insinuates. It's over an hour of previously unreleased material from the same tour that the original Roxy and elsewhere was recorded.

Definitely looking forward to the re-release and new release of the Roxy material!

I never saw Frank live, haven't been motivated to catch Dweezil either.

A friend of my dad's corrupted me early - he gave me a tape of John Mayall's Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton, and on the B side was Live at the Fillmore! I was only 11! Never been the same since  ;D  Years later I discovered the musical merit of the album, whether it's the solo on Willie the Pimp or the live versions of Happy Together and Peaches En Regalia. But in junior high it was more "mudshark" and "Bwana Dik" and "Robert Planet"...

But what about the enchilada wrapped with pickle sauce shoved up and down in between a donkey's legs until he can't stand it no more...?
