My beloved Jody passed this morning at age 17 after a long decline. Great long life for a Norwegian Elkhound but I will miss her terribly all the same. Rest in peace, sweet girl.

Sorry to hear it, Dave.  They are part of the family.

Very sorry for your loss Dave.

Darn it, I don't think it ever gets any easier, to loose the only one who accepts you for howevere you are, always there for you. My heart goes out to your and your family for your loss. I could not take it and just got another dog.

Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Sorry to hear about your loss Dave. Losing a long time pet is every bit as hard as losing any other family member. After three years, we still miss ours.

Sorry to hear it Dave. She was a beauty.

Very sad.  Many of us know exactly how it feels.

Take Care Dave,

Like many here I know the pain of losing a beloved pet, most sorry for your loss.

Oh Dave, I'm so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful dog and I'm sure she loved you as much as you love her. Here's to Jody, RIP.

It was her time, Dave, and hopefully it was peaceful when her time came to pass ...

Loosing my dog (being our first) had to be the most devastating thing our family had to go through( which I know sounds bad).

I could not go in the back yard without feeling his loss and he was terrible dog!

I don't think I will ever get over him. Still the only way for me to recover was getting another dog. We got kind of a rescue dog, a three year old basenji that had spent most of his life in a crate do to him not getting along with the breeders other dogs.

It was very difficult for the first month, but after that, he has turned out to be the best dog we ever owned. It was a very rewarding experience. He will never replace our old dog but we certainly needed each other.

He truly appreciates everything he gets.

Again I'm very sorry for your loss.
