I knew someone who went into a bar somewhere in Florida asking for change for the "fag-machine" and got some very strange looks... fags... ciggies... UK slang...
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

LMFAO... I had to look that one up... somewhat lost in translation... Hoover is best known as Maytag over your side of the pond, iirc...

There was a cancelled advertising run I got "wind" of a long while back - "Nothing sucks like Electrolux sucks..."

Hoover has always been Hoover here. At one time Hoover USA was owned by Maytag Corp. but used the Hoover name. Times change, though. Maytag almost went bankrupt thanks to the failure of its Neptune line and was bought by Whirlpool, who then sold off Hoover USA to the Chinese company TTI (a/k/a Techtronic Industries).

Did anyone ever have a positive experience with these? The electrical and mechanical problems were bad enough. The mold and mildew in the seals and gaskets was even worse, it stunk up your wash and made your house smell.
