thank you, Uwe and Dave. This has been a pretty wonderful experience so far...and it has been great meeting all sorts of people who otherwise I would never have met.

Many thanks to Dave and Uwe!  :toast: I do forget that it does cost someone in the end, I would be happy to contribute.......

Yep, right when they started this up I offered to kick in something to keep the lights on.  Dave thanked me but said that the light bill was covered  ;D

I'm still willing to kick in and I am doubly thankful for the complete and udder lack of banners, side bars and all of the other flashy, noisy things that some sites have.

This place is indeed an oasis in a desert of bollocks and misinformation.the knowledge shared here here is comprehensive and there is even some stuff about basses too! Thanks Uwe and Dave for your efforts in keeping the outpost running.im on here nearly every day and always enjoy it.
Louder bass!.

OldManC

Count me in on being grateful. Through life's ups and downs over the last few years I've always had this place to visit for a sense of fun and camaraderie. You guys rock.

Dave W

We would have to get a LOT bigger before cost would ever be a concern, and I don't see that happening. We're relatively small and bandwidth and storage space is relatively cheap. Thanks for the offers, though.

Member of the pit here too, got sad when the bad things started to happen there, but I think this place is much much better. I might like my bananas big, but I prefer my forums small, it works better for me. Now excuse me cause Bergkirchweih can't wait any more!!! :D Cheers Dave and Uwe, I'll drink some for you! ;)

Highlander

Chris, it's all your fault... I want that made clear... just because you spotted me playing some odd Thunderbird on a VA forum thread about my equally odd Hiwatt and was curious as to what she was and then invited me over... well, now you know who to blame... ;D

Dave... can't think of suitably high enough plaudits, putting up with us lot... who does cover the running costs, and why has a voluntary subscription never been offered to assist... I'd offer what I could, which at the moment would not be that great, but...

Uwe... the calming balming oil on the stormy ocean... the man who has everything... weeeellll... maybe not a Continental V, or a certain double neck, or that very old Explorer, or... but he does have lots of spares, and a garage full of cases, and his generosity, when he is in a position to be, is just that, as a lot of us know...

George, Scott and Tony... all showed equal generosity and kindness early on with someone who was effectively a stranger, and has proved himself to be somewhat stranger than most... ;)

Mark, or maybe Lady V... easily the best legs around, and has taught me more about Hellcats than I care to remember... err, at least I think it is...  :gay:

Al... here's to that beer, even though we're still several time-zones apart...  :toast:

Bill and Carlo... luthiers extraordinaire... and friends... I wish I had half your talent, put it together and it would make a whole

As for Tom, tack Stjofon, slainte mhath Stewart, Sk8, dank Rob, gracias Robert, Rick, kiitos Pekka, Nofi, hoots-mon Matt, "Stoned" Mark, Who is Kurt, Parakalo Kristos, Jules, John, Joe, Jim, shalom Ilan, domo Harri san, Gonzo, Gary, Eric, Denis, tack Daniel, Pastor Campbell. Buzz, strewth Bret, Brad, Bob, Billy, Baz, shalom Ari and Andy, and so many others... you all play your part in what makes this a great place to visit...

... and not forgetting Michael, who has gone through some changes, but is always an interesting conversationalist...

The last couple of years have been somewhat fraught for me, and at present a lot worse than I'd prefer it to be, but as for this place, my little rock of sanity in a sea of... hey... did you see that squirrel...?
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

It's what the pit should of been long ago. A place without drama and a adult and reasonable attitude/ respect of other people regardless of what bass you play, music you listen to or religious political view point

There was a corner of the pit that was like that, it was the Gibson sub-forum. I think that is where the roots of this forum lie, and why there is a lot of Gibson interest here. Thanks to Dave and Uwe for giving us a place to hang, and also thanks to Rob for keeping the Bachbird project alive during the transition.

Grog

My thanks to Dave & Uwe also! I wasn't around in the "Pit" days, I stumbled on this forum by accident one day looking for information. I found a lot more.......... A place you could hang out and not be judged for owning a 20/20 (or two). Hell, most of the other guys wouldn't even know what a 20/20 was!! I thought I was pretty much alone collecting vintage Gibson Basses, at least around these parts. It was great to find others with the same interest, though we are still a fairly small bunch. Rock on LBO!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Big thanks, yeah!  :toast: Love this place. First stop in the morning. Never any drama here. That's the best part, followed by the knowledge.

Chris P.

The first thing I do every morning is check this forum!

And you're welcome Herbie:)

I'm a refugee from The Pit, though like here, I didn't really post much, but I do wanna say thanks to all here.
