Glad I never started the smoking thing - wicked nasty habit.  Like a lot of you I spent many nights in clubs and it seemed like everyone but me smoked.

Congrats Jim and continued success on your recovery. I was curious how you said your ailment wasn't tobacco related but tied to HPV. Does that mean cunnilingus could give a guy cancer? I quit cigs but I don't know if I could quit the quim. How do you explain that to a girl? Sorry babe, it's not worth the radiation and kemo?

that is a tough one to do.  So yes it is related.  My cancer was 100% hpv driven.    HPV was thought to be a dorment virus for decades but clearly has gotten back.  They now vacinate high school kids for it.  Prior   99.5% of the people come in contact with it but  it just dies in the body.  Some lucky people it doesn't die but lays dorment.  of that small percentage another x percentage it eventually mutates into a cancer cell.  For women it is ovary and cervex,  men throat and lung and others anal.   AFAIK they don't test people for the virus , they just test the cancer cells when it is already discovered to see what caused it so they know what they are dealing with. 

Being virus driven versus cig/alcohol the cure rate goes from 45-52% up to over 95% when it is HPV driven.  And cure rates are so inaccurate anyway as everybody is diagnosed at different times and in different health so they are what they are just averages and does it really matter what the rest is,  just you at the end ofthe day.
