Nice colour but the paint looks very thin, you can see the pores in the wood and the backs of the guitars look almost "roadworn". Is Pelham Blue supposed to be sprayed so lightly or do you also think they could use another layer of paint?

Basvarken

Agreed. It looks like the layer of paint is very thin.
The wood seems to shine through in a few places. For example on the back of this Les Paul:

But I somehow kinda like that roadworn look with this color

(The SG looks to be done a little darker or thicker)

Are these Chinese now? One would think that it would be easier to have a huge batch of paint, but I'll bet the different guitars are made in different factories. Using crappy and mismatched finishes like that for promotional material sounds like a "creative" advertising option.

Or it could be the same paint but applied so thin that the guitars with maple tops look lighter in color than the mahogany ones.

Basvarken

No. If that were the case the Firebird, SG en EB would look the same because they're all three mahogany.

I'm safe - it's 34" scale.  Otherwise I might get twitchy.

I know it says 34" scale, but then why is the bridge so far away from the edge of the body?

The Pelham Blue finish on my Epi Wilshire is way better than the one on my NR bird. Maybe these are pictures of prototypes that were made in Mephis ;D

That's odd. Compared with the regular EB-3 on Epi's site, the bridge on this one does look further from the edge, yet they both have 22 frets.

And why is this called TV Pelham Blue on Epi's site? That makes no sense.

I would reserve judgement till I see one up close. They sure look cool. I like Epi's version of the long scale EB3, I think it's a bargain at 299.00. I did have both the short and long scale Epi EB3 but I recently sold them off when I got my Gibson worn finish SG bass.

I recently played an Epi EB3. It had a second Mudbucker at the bridge instead of the mini humbucker.
Very nice bass with great sound(s). It had a nice grain through the high gloss burgundy finish. Pretty comfortable bass that felt almost as a shortscale.
At a price like this it is going to be pretty hard to control the GAS...

They also have/had the TV silver series last year. The finish looks a little thin or slightly worn on those as well.
