OW!  Abdominal surgery is never fun but orthopedic surgery is a major bit of pain.  Good luck to the both of you!

Hail, you Harvester of Appendixes/Veteran of a 1,000 Abdominal Surgeries, something is on its way to you. Several little packages actually. Don't fear the Healing.

Glad you are ok. My grandfather died in 1932 when my dad was only 3 - he had abdominal pain, doctor told him to sleep on it, it burst and he died.

I had mine out when I was 20 - that was back in the days when they let you recover in the hospital, I was there for 3-4 days. I remember when I was told I could drink water - they didn't tell me that I wouldn't be able to pee! They turned on all the faucets but it didn't help, and the other poor guys in the room had to go instead, including this guy who had been hit by a car and was in a body cast! I woke up in so much pain that I finally went to the desk to ask beg them for the catheter, but no one was there so I went back to bed and finally peed the next day.

Rob

Good luck to you both and speedy recovery

Good luck Rick.  At least the ortho surgeries tend to be very successful, although a bit painful  Best wishes!

Had my followup today. Everything looks great, so I've been cleared! Still have to avoid heavy lifting for a little while, but I'm good to go.
Thanks for all the well-wishing!
