Seems like a waste of an early 60's Gibson.  Of course, it's shorter scale and lighter than a P-bass.

It's not a real Gibson. Look closely at that logo. It's a maple neck through with ash wings.

Watt isn't claiming that it is. But there are two, wait ... three massacred Gibson EBs if you scroll down. This man is worse than Scott!

Yep it's only 'based on'

Warwick has quite a nice SG kinda bass, which is mahogany neck trough with mahogany wings.

Right, but nofi's post was about the first pic. Those massacred EBs have been around for several years.

Watt obviously wanted the style and scale of an EB but not the tone, at least for this bass.

He can pay all he wants, it won't help. It's still a Wankwick.

I wish he payed me for this:) I have ordered such a bass for a review, just because I'm very interested in how it will sound. Will it be T-Bird-ish? It is long scale...

BTW: The review bass will be a Korean one.

Don't mention Scott... he might make an EB3 with enlarged cutaway. The world isn't ready for that yet;)
