I found a little background: the pitcher is Pat Venditte, drafted out of Creighton University. This is the New York-Penn League, a "short season" Class A league. The game was between the Long Island Yankees and the Brooklyn Cyclones. The league's season just started on June 17 so they obviously haven't quite figured out what to do in a situation like this.

I have to agree with the announcer, they should've flipped a coin.  after all that, the guy strikes out.   geez.

Darrol

I would have enjoyed seeing the pitcher switch in middle of striking him out.
There are many in this world that call me Darrol, feel free to be apart of that group.

That pitcher needs some Cru-ex. He must have grabbed and scratched his crotch a dozen times. (with his left hand!)

Baseball  ???  Switch hitter means something else to me.................... :gay:
Resident T Bird playing Drag Queen www.thenastyhabits.com  "Impülsivê", the new lush fragrance as worn by the unbelievable Fräulein Rômmélle! Traces of black patent leather, Panzer grease, mahogany and model train oil mingle and combust to one sheer sensation ...

Even though I'm born and bred Australian I grew up playing baseball instead of cricket. My Dad also played.
My Dad, me and my son are all ambidextrous and Dad and I both used to switch hit. (Shut up Mark  :D )
It was great annoying the crap out of pitchers. Especially the good ones because you would stuff them around just enough to at least get a walk ....usually.
