LOL Yep Kenny! Just like that. Like someone turned a switch.

Our switch was a white out for a few hours today. Right when I had to drive 80 miles round trip to drop off my kids, and then another 80 to pick them up. The only time it let up much was in between my trips. Of course!  It may not have stuck much though. It was pretty slushy...

We got a couple more inches last night.  Beautiful!  I hope of you have a beautiful Christmas no matter the weather!

Not saying you have obsession issues, Al... ;D

Gonzo... it is opening my eyes to know you have any unfavourable weather in your fair islands...

Rick... I have a fair amount of (paternal) family in Mi... relatives in Livonia usually enjoy cross-country skiing...

Bill and Scott (et al) ... Jackies late (Ky) uncle told us the winter before their family reunion in '03 they had 18" of snow in one night for a first snowfall of the season...

Still wet here... lots of flooding... nasty...

Son of a gun, we did get a little white stuff for Christmas ;D. Livonia is just a few miles from me, Got a few friends living there.

Family name is Sundeck - one of my late dad's first cousins - we have other family in the area but have lost contact with them - all originally Stewart's and MacLeods - two of my dad's paternal aunts emigrated in the 10's and I am aware of Campbell (a maternal great uncle of dad's) family that relocated around 1900 or so... they have descendants in Wisconsin and Nevada too...

Did you mean to put this in the Sturmgewehr thread?

That's a married name so presume it has Germanic roots, Herr Westheimer...? ;)

Has anyone looked at the overall gene-pool of the USA and figured the origins...?

Genuine question here...

Dunno, but just to break LBO tradition, I'll actually post something related to the original title...it's snowing vigorously here in Fort Collins, adding to both our lovely Christmas season and the bank accounts of automotive body shops.  Getting slippery out there!

Ken, I must be missing something b/c I still don't know what your posts have to do with the rest of the thread. We were discussing ancestry in a different thread.

Here in Ohio we got at least 10 inches the day after Christmas. :o

And I left Columbus for the day about 2:00 am yesterday morning, and just got back this afternoon.  How convenient!   8)

Ken, I must be missing something...

I didn't know Rick's in Michigan and I was noting family (mine, not Jackie's) over that way and it turned out he knew people in the Livonia area... I'll re-read that thread and see what I've missed...
