In this discussion about T-birds on that OTHER forum

Someone started a thread on that "other" forum asking for advice because he was considering a Thunderbird. In the middle of (mostly) informative posts, some hoser posted this: "Don't know anything about them, never played one, cause I do not care for the shape.
I will say that I play G&L L 2500s and I'm sure there are players who feel the same about them.
I'm not bashing TBirds, just the reasons why I can't help you in their evaluation."

This is a perfect example of someone who has NOTHING TO OFFER but must chime in on everything. Why waste his time reading the Thunderbird thread? It's like Frank Zappa once said about Tipper Gore, "I can't believe she spends her time sitting around listening to music she can't stand."
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

I never played a G&L 2500 so I can't answer this. Sorry.  ;)

G&Ls are ugly, so I recommend no one play one.  Shape is important to tone and volume, more so than finish, bridge mass or string through configuration!   :)
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Yup! It's like they can't help themselves (these kinds of people, not TB-ers in general). STFU already!

The TBird has one huge advantage: It will even work without a battery.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

So will a G&L 2500.  First thing I did was take the battery out of mine.

He's obviously suffering from Gibson Tourette's.

I knew he'd drunk the Kool-Aid, didn't know that was a side effect.

Some things that are always in great supply at TB

-Idiots, small minded morons.......Really difficult to sift thru the outright stupidity.
-Gibson haters that have never even bothered to own one
-A lot of weaklings, " that bass weighs 6lbs, I can't play it"  Effing wuss, go to the gym!

Resident T Bird playing Drag Queen www.thenastyhabits.com  "Impülsivê", the new lush fragrance as worn by the unbelievable Fräulein Rômmélle! Traces of black patent leather, Panzer grease, mahogany and model train oil mingle and combust to one sheer sensation ...

Another post was: "Head-stock heavy, insanely thick neck, pretty boomy tone. Not my cup of tea, but they definitely have a really unique sound.

A while back I posted onto the UK basschat website about Thunderbirds...there seemed to be a distinct lack of love.  Aside from my usual moan about the three point bridge and how tiresome I was finding the persistent groans from other posters about neck dive, I was particularly pleased with this comment of mine:

Look [at my avatar], I'm a slightly overweight guy in my forties. It doesn't get any worse than that, but thankfully, I have all my hair. When I play this bass, I feel like a skinny guy in my twenties. Go figure. It sounds great and makes me look good. It's like magic.

Tell the G&L player this is what TBs are all about.  I'm a recent convert to the Thunderbird (lack of funds more than anything else) and I plan on playing one of my flock until they screw the lid on.

The future I come from no longer exists.
