Hofner Shorty Travel Bass

These seem to be available all over the place now.  I can't find any reviews.  It seems it would almost have to be worth $200, though.

Note:  I found this video review after posting.  I didn't particularly find the bass very impressive, but it still might be worthwhile as a travel bass.

The original Shorties (which were 28" scale I believe, like a baritone guitar) were more bass than their appearance might lead one to believe.

I've actually heard good things about those original Hofner Shorties.  But those were made in Germany.  At such a low price, I'm 99.9% sure this reissue is made somewhere in Asia.  Nevertheless, it's hard to find much of anything about them.  That's probably because very few people have even played the reissue.  I'm also assuming there probably won't be much interest in them.  That's understandable; I'm not even sure if I'm interested enough to buy one or not.  That's what I'm trying to decide right now.

i have one somewhere around my place.  Came with a shadow pickup which was a pretty good HB.  never measured the scale but seemed short.    bought mine back in 83-84 timeframe
