That is one lovely SG.

Two 5-way switches, quite a few possibilities there. IIRC it was bought for £700.

Whatever possessed the guy who (over)routed that P-pickup cut? That price is seriously optimistic. The action sounds like a symptom of needing a neck reset.

Well spotted! Hadn't realised that's what it is; I reckon that & the heavily removed bottom edge of the original cavities is what's allowing the body to move. Whether refilling those holes with solid wood would fix it I dunno.
I read a while ago that it was a known similar issue in some Rick basses where the neck pickup's pocket was cut too big.

Yikes! I didn't look at all the detail photos until now, that is seriously hollowed out! Certainly could affect stability.

Perfect for any Weather Report tribute band really. Jaco-bites want a Flying V and Flying V bassists are all diehard fusionists.

My favorite fusion Flying V players are Michael Schenker, K.K. Downing and Randy Rhoads. And yours?

That's my old band from the '80s, One Arm Bandit.  I posted a video of a 30 year reunion we did in February, but here it is again.

I remember now!

Guitarist looks a bit Glenn Tiptonish/Russ Ballardish. Kudos for continuing to play but how did he lose his hand? All that picking by only using his arm for movement must require great co-ordination, klutz I am, I could never do it.

Hoppy lost his arm up to the elbow in a meat grinder when he was 6.  He learned to play guitar just as you see him.  He puts corn pads on each side of his pick to enable the pick to be stable in the hook.
I used to tell him we needed finger picking in some songs.

Well, it's nice to know how you two hooked up for music. And I guess when someone said "Look at the amp beauty!", he didn't immediately assume they were marvelling at his Marshall, no?  8)
