It slows down and speeds up unexpectedly just like a drummer!

Reminds me of this one, a wee bit smaller but keeps better time.  :)

I wonder what maximum RPM is on that Fairbanks-Morse?  Probably less than 1500.  Gotta be HUGE pistons going up and down in there.

I like Dave's cut, too...no drummer needed as long as you can work at the tractor's tempo.  It would make "Wipe Out" pretty boring, though.

pieces of the FM would be all over the field if it tried to hit 1500, 500 would be more like it. prolly an engine from a harbor tug or something akin. my father was a master on FM's espcially opposed cylinder FM's in subs as timing them is a total bitch. the ones in ships you had to crawl inside to sand the cylinders for a ring job.
